As kids Ray and I were neighbours. I have a lot of good memories as we kept in touch over the following years. We had a great phone conversation a few months ago. He was in great spirits and we laughed a lot. I will always feel good remembering that phone call. Good bye my friend. Mel - Posted by: Mel Inglis (Lifelong Friend) on: May 23, 2026

Ray, was truly a Winnipeg Legend in his contribution to the Music Scene, He was a terrific guy to meet and instantly became a friend. I grew up in the 60's becoming a teenager in '63. At that time I was able like all teenagers then got to attend the many Community Club Teen Dances and enjoyed the "live" entertainment of the many, many great Bands Winnipeg produced. One of my many favorites during that time were "The Jury" with Bruce Walker, George Johns, Terry Kenny, Roland Blaquiere, Ray on Drums, as well as past members Donnie Burns, and Ken Hordichuk. They rivaled the "Guess Who" and produced many '45 singles ( all playing in my Jukebox) I became a DJ running, owning "Specialty Music" in the late '70's and catered only to the baby boomers, played many of the local "Rock Revivals" with the likes of Bob Burns, Wayne Walker, Jack Skelly as well as working with the many bands from the '60s, Car Shows, Legions and of course the Royal George, crossed paths with Ray many times, I will truly miss my dear friend , gone but always remembered when I play a "Jury" Tune. We send our prayers and deepest sympathies to his wife Debbie , his family and friends, Ray was an upbeat person and fought his battle with cancer with courage, laughter, and grateful for every extra day he got on earth. he owed his music, especially Elvis Presley and loved playing the drums with his band, he never disappointed anybody, he attended all his friends socials, meeting his friends for their yearly luncheons at Montana’s, he will be missed this year, he never failed to make his yearly critas calls snd we’d have long conversations exchanging what’s happening with all his friends, he was such a kind man, had a boisterous laugh instinct only to him, I would tell him that I prayed for him every night to live to be 10, he would tell me, that he prayed for me and rely believed in prayer, I guess God saw he was getting tired and gave Ray, his wings of gold to Heaven, may he now rest in peace, we will truly miss him and those yearly Christmas calls and conversion, love always our dear friend, you will always be in our hearts, love forever, Ronnie and Iris Carlisle, - Posted by: Ronnie and Iris carlisle (Close friends,) on: May 23, 2026
